Quality
- Only top performance boars are used for natural service and artificial insemination
- Specific rations ensure correct slaughter pig / carcass characteristics
- Good communication between members and processors ensures the required specifications are provided.
Indeed 85% of all pigs marketed through the group consistently achieve top grades of P2=<11mm. Grading using % lean meat is equally impressive.
Health
- Limited drug usage on members units
- Drugs are only used under strict veterinary instruction
- Carcasses are tested for drug residues by DARD veterinary inspectors at the processing plant and the group never has had carcasses rejected for undesirable residues
